Activate two-factor authentication (2FA) via email

Receive a code by email at each login for enhanced security.

4 min of reading

2FA (two-factor authentication) adds a layer of security on top of your password. Each time you log in, Monniz sends you a 6-digit code by email that you must enter to complete your login. Even if someone stole your password, they would also need access to your email.

Go to Settings → Security → Activate 2FA. If you have a PIN code set up, it will be requested first (additional security before any critical changes).

Monniz immediately sends a 6-digit code to the email address associated with your account. You can find it in your inbox (also check your spam), it expires 10 minutes after being sent.

Enter the code in Monniz to confirm. 2FA will switch to “active” status and will be required for all your future logins.

Upon confirmation, Monniz provides you with **10 recovery codes** of 8 characters. Note them down or save them in a password manager: if you lose access to your email, they are your only way to reconnect (each usable only once).
